[31 for 21] ~ The Start Of A New Era

16 Oct

Jake has never been interested in television.  He’s always been the kid who just wanted to run around, to be physical, to climb, to push, to use his body in whatever activity he was involved in.

Until recently…

Recently he has discovered the world of “Sesame Street”.  He points at my computer, signs “more”, and points at the screen again, until I turn it on for him.  He sits in front of the screen, mesmerized by Elmo, Cookie Monster, Big Bird, and the whole cast.  When an episode ends and a new one starts automatically (thank you Netflix!), he screams with delight and bounces up and down when the opening credits start!

It’s the start of a new era in our house…

Mesmerized. And can't get close enough to the screen!

Mesmerized. And can’t get close enough to the screen!

I am trying to take a "selfie" of all three of us. They are staring at Elmo. Obsessed!

Jake seriously can't get enough...

Jake seriously can’t get enough…

Today I am frantically trying to pack, as Curtis and I are heading to Vancouver for a few days!   So look for some more answers to some questions tomorrow:)

What do the boys have in common? How do they play and get along? to they take care of each other, fight etc.? Obviously they both like Sesame Street! 🙂

As much as the tv can be very obsessive, some days I would give anything for Davis to stop moving for 5 seconds and watch some TV 🙂 I know I will regret that comment in a few years but for now I crave quiet time.
I have a question: you mentioned previously that Jake is a picky eater, something him and Davis have in common. What types of things will he eat and any tips/tricks for expanding his food repertoire or getting him to eat? Right now Davis would prefer to live on yogurt, toast, fruit and pizza!!

I have the same delight with my two-year old. PBS kids has an app for the iPad and she has figured out how to turn on the iPad find the app and watch Daniel Tiger, Caillou, and Angelina Ballerina over and over and over again. Now she has discovered that Daniel Tiger can be watched on Netflix, eek! 🙂
