Life is precious. And too short.
Today we grieve with our friends over the loss of a sister, a sister-in-law, and an auntie.
Today we come face to face once again with the frailty of life.
Today we spend a few extra minutes in appreciation for the people in our own lives. And today we make sure they know how much they are loved.
While my husband and I were grieving alongside our friends, all the while celebrating a life well-lived and forever-remembered, Jake was at home playing with his “Auntie Sarah”.
Sarah is amazing! As one of my best friends, she has also become such an important part of my kids’ lives. She loves them as though they were her own flesh and blood. She knows their little personalities, their quirks, their likes and dislikes. She would drop everything for them. She would do anything to make them smile, to watch them laugh, to bring them joy. And I love it that she plays such an important role in their lives.
So while we are so grateful for the influences of people like Sarah in our sons’ lives, we also stand by our friends today, and grieve the loss of an important influence in their lives. And we remember again, that life is precious. And too short.
