…And Then There Were 4!!

30 Jul

On Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at 11:33am, our little family of three became a family of four!  Welcome to the world, baby Cole Richard Slater!  We think you are pretty special, and we’re really glad you’re here…all 6lbs, 11ounces of you!

I was a little worried at how Jake would react to having a new baby brother in the house.  But, I’m pleased to say, that so far, it hasn’t seemed to have affected him negatively at all!  When Cole cries, Jake pays attention to him, and laughs at his tiny wail!  When Cole is on the floor beside Jake, Jake definitely notices him, tries to grab his hair or his ears, and is generally interested in seeing what the fuss is all about!  But so far, no jealousy, and he seems to be taking it in stride.  So…phew!  And as for this mom, I’m learning how to let go of my fears of not being a good enough mom to Jake now that Cole is around.  I am learning that yes, I can love both of my children fiercely.  That yes, I can make time for both of them when they need it.  And that yes, I can ask for help:)

So, here are some great pics of our new little guy, and of Jake and Cole together.  Brothers for life!!

This was the first time Jake met his new baby brother Cole. He was enthralled!
